Clay Etc. Editor
I am a writer and editor with broad experience in both book and magazine publishing. I currently am a Junior Agent at The Ekus Group and Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency working with design oriented, illustrated non-fiction particularly in culinary, arts, design, and craft categories. My work researching and writing about food in my published work and as a developmental writer for the cookbook by a Michelin-star and French Legion of Honor chef brings insights that will help any emerging writer get their concept and vision onto the published page.
My independent written work has been featured in publications like Kyoto Journal where I was guest editor for their 97th issue. Under the theme “Next Generations,” I wrote and commissioned articles, fiction, poetry, photo essays, and illustrations that delved into the circuitous road that tradition and centuries old institutions take when passed between generations. In all the issue contained 24 pieces, from interviews with a grand tea master to fiction from a young author writing in Hong Kong during the 2019 protests, written and edited by an international team collaborating across six time zones.
My work has also appeared in publications such as Kansai Scene and Japan Object and I was an editor for a zine titled Clay Etc. which opened in March 2021 with a lecture at Harvard Ceramics Program.
